OK, so lately I find my self broke (not poor - broke). I check my bank account on a fairly consistent basis b/c I never know if i'm going to be able to afford daily living LOL! I had heard about mint.com a while ago but never really thought I could use it... I was wrong. IDK if any of you are familiar with Quicken by Intuit but, mint.com is basically Quicken on steroids online. You can keep all your financials on there and then install their app on your phone and always know where you stand financially. I'll be honest - Just the alerts that this thing has make it worth the 5 minutes it takes to set it up. As an added bonus, @ the end of the year you can pull all the info into TurboTax and your done in about half the time it would have taken!
The other site that I check on a monthly basis is creditkarma.com. This is also 100% free and lets you know where your credit stands. I wasn't aware that just because you get divorced your credit takes a pretty big point hit! It also helps you see what all you have out there in your name so that you can fix any issues that the EX might have left you with or created BEFORE you get too screwed.
Both of those sites are 100% free and probably the most useful things that you can do to help fix / monitor your credit and general finances.
