Windows XP - Finally Dead?

I been asked a lot over the past few weeks about the impending doom of Windows XP.  For the record this is my stance: Upgrade to at least Windows 7.  Seriously it came out in 2002; it had a good run.  I also wanted to let everyone know that it isn't going to just stop working.  It's just that you will no longer be receiving updates (security or otherwise).  That means that you shouldn't be using the thing on the internet.  So, all the people with XP POS units and such - you're going to be fine.  Your computers aren't going to quit etc. and you'll be able to continue on.  I just recently was asked about a situation where the POS software won't run on Windows 7.  What do you do then?  In a couple of words: Virtual Machine.  VMWare has a number of free products as does Microsoft themselves.  The VMWare products all need a 64 bit processor that supports virtualization and they work like a champ.  Microsoft's Virtual PC doesn't need either of those things (It runs poorly as a result and they've discontinued it) but, it does work.  You can snag a copy here:

That solves that LOL!
