Sleeping advice for Insomniacs and Single People

Divorced Guys Survival Guide:
Journal Entry:

I have been having some real issues over the last few months getting really good, restful, & refreshing sleep.  No, it isn't my conscience.  However, it is probably stress related.  I have finally found a way that works very well for me.  Now I don't notice all the creaks and groans the house makes, I'm asleep within 5 minutes, & I don't wake up multiple times throughout the night.  I combined the following things:

1. Relacore PM - These guys market it as a weight loss while you sleep pill (and that is ludicrous)!  Lets be real here - there is no magic bullet for weight loss.  Especially a pill that works while you sleep.  But, these babies put you out w/o you feeling groggy the next day!  I take 3 a half hour before bed and they help a lot.  You can pick them up from amazon:
Relacore Pm Bedtime Fat Pill Reduce Stress 96 Caps
2. A good pillow - This is really important!  It eliminates a stiff neck and lets you get a good nights rest.  I already have a mattress that I like so that wasn't an issue.
3. Brahms anything, Handel's Water music, or the 8 hour long YouTube video for self hypnosis and stress reduction - These were the final piece for me.  Any of those things above put me out and keep me out until my alarm wakes me.  I have my iPad plugged in and playing this all night long from YouTube.  Just search YouTube for those and you're ready to go.

NOTE 1: Stop smoking 1 hour before bed - trust me it helps a lot.
NOTE 2: Brahms makes me obsessively want to play Castlevania and/or hunt vampires (not a bad thing right?) and I have no idea why.  Also I avoid Handels Mesiah - it's a little busy to sleep to.
NOTE 3: Try sleeping in a T-Shirt and a pair of shorts w/o underwear - it's more comfortable and you're shoulders won't hurt as bad if there's a chill.

Total investment thanks to Walmart and Amazon: Less than $25

You can't really put a price tag on sleep.  Finally, I sleep the sleep of the just! Notice that I didn't say sleeping like a baby.  Any parent can tell you that sleeping like a baby means up every 2 hours crying LOL!  Divorce is depressing, expensive, stressful, & generally horrible.  If you're tired you can't bring your A Game when you need it the most.  Don't think that your ex isn't sleeping; they are - in silk sheets that you paid for (this is obviously an ex-adjuration but, you get the idea).

Also, don't hesitate to hit your local dollar store for LED nightlights.  Yeah, yeah we're guys but it makes it a lot easier to navigate the house when you get in late.  If you're worried about your man card status just say it's for the kids when they come over.  I'll be posting more on energy savings later.  You also don't need an iPad - go snag a cheap android tablet here:
Dragon Touch® 7'' Black Dual Core Y88 Google Android 4.1 Tablet PC, Dual Camera, HD 1024x600, 4GB, Google Play Pre-load, HDMI, 3D Game Supported (enhanced version of A13)[By TabletExpress]
It'll handle all your YouTube, eBook, & porn (LOL - seriously don't do that) needs.  You can probably use your smart phone for all of the above too - then you don't have to spend any money.  Just make sure to plug it into the wall.

Again, Please use the links above to buy that stuff if you're interested.  It makes me a couple of cents and goes toward funding my life.  Yeah it's a shameless cash grab but whatever.  It's not like it's a lot of cash.

UPDATE: I was just informed that a good Melatonin supplement can be used in place of Relacore.
Nature's Bounty Maximum Strength Melatonin 10mg Capsules, 60-Count
I haven't tried it personally but, I got the info from a great resource for stuff like that.  I'll also be posting about vitamins and supplements later.

I've personally done exactly what's specified in this post (unless otherwise specified - i'm looking at you Melatonin).  It worked for me but, we're all different.  Be really careful taking new supplements and ask a doctor before you do anything.  You might have a medical condition and they'd be better to advise you than some random blog.  All the stuff above hasn't been known to hurt anyone.  At worst it doesn't work for some people but, you need to take your health seriously.
