FAQ's

Here is a collection of our followers most common questions:

Q: My PC is running really slowly, my search results aren't what i'm looking for, I'm bombarded by ads, & I have a Huge FBI / NSA / Random other threatening agency warning on my PC.
A: You have Malware / Spyware / a Trojan / A virus!  Check this Blog Post for removal / repair instructions.

Q: What's this Blog all about?
A: It's our goal to de-mystify some of the wizardry behind what we do.  Let's face it - technology can be intimidating and we all need some help.

We want to become (and are becoming) an essential part of most IT / Savvy home users' tool set.

With the current state of the union: everyone's trying to save a little money.  Our site helps provide you with tips, tricks, tweaks, life hacks, & self driven support.

Yeah, ego boost.  When someone comes up to me and tells me about how they were able to use some of the information we gave them to a positive result: it's a big deal.

Q: What's your stand on Piracy?
A: We do not condone piracy in any way!  If you like and use something - Pay for it!

Q: What do you guys think about "Going Green"?
A: We think it's a great idea!  But, not for the reasons that you think.  We're all about efficiency and investment vs. return.  If you go "green" you lower your footprint or whatever but, you also generally save money and cut back your waste (aka garbage bill so... yeah again money).  There are a lot of "Green" products, services, and options that strait up aren't cost effective, bad for the environment (long term), and are stupid (Looking at you ethanol!).  You need to conduct your own research and verify each one to make sure it's the best for yourself and everyone else.  While we're not "going green", we are reducing our usage and saving money.  The funny and ironic part is that in the process of reducing our bills etc. - we've reduced our waste, usage, & carbon footprint more than a significant number of "green" proponents (posers, Hollywood, & the hipsters - IMO).

Q: Did Al Gore really invent the internet?
A: Seriously? Read This!

Q; What is this "Cutting the Cord" thing we keep hearing about?
A; Assuming you're referring to your communications mediums: It is referring to switching from expensive classical service to less expensive / free alternatives.  Here are a few examples:

Phone: Cancel your classical phone service and switch to Google Voice (or some compatible VOIP) and an Obihai unit.  We covered this in an article here.

Video: Cancel your cable / satellite service and get Netflix / Hulu and Kodi.  Here is a great Kodi Article.

Q: How can I ask you a question / get a topic covered?
A: Get a hold of us on Google Plus or Facebook.

Q; I find your knowledge totally hawt.  Are you guys single?
A: Not ATM - Sorry Ladies!  We'll update this question if circumstances change.

Q: You hurt my feeling with your commentary, opinions, an stuff!
A; That's not a question & feel free to close your browser window!  No one forced you to read anything!

** The number one question of all time:**
Q; Why do all support calls begin with the question "Have you restarted your computer?"
A: The simple answer is because it fixes 98% of all issues.  Sometimes an application terminates improperly and doesn't free up its memory space or sometimes an important service (Ex. the Print Spooler) ends and is unable to start again b/c of other issues.  Another issue is that certain things need to happen in a specific order on PC's; if that doesn't happen they lose their minds and need to be flushed out and started over in the proper order.  So in summary, a clean boot fixes all of that.
